I am happy to be here today at the Convocation ceremony of the Central University of Tamil Nadu. This beautiful state of Tamil Nadu is a land renowned across the world for its ancient civilisation. Thiruvarur is also known for its rich cultural heritage.

 I am glad to take part in the celebrations commemorating the completion of 120 years since the foundation of the City Union Bank was laid. This celebration is a tribute to a century-long commitment to trust, service, and progress. This is an occasion to recall the consistent contribution of the management and staff of the bank, who have, over the period, nurtured and shaped the institution.

My Dear Fellow Citizens,

I extend my heartiest greetings to all of you on the eve of Independence Day.  It is a matter of pride for all of us that Independence Day and Republic Day are celebrated by every Indian with zeal and enthusiasm. These are the days that especially remind us of our being proud Indians.

मुझे आज राष्ट्रपति भवन में फिलीपींस गणराज्य के राष्ट्रपति महामहिम फर्डिनेंड आर. मार्कोस जूनियर, First Lady श्रीमती लुईस अरनेटा मार्कोस और उनके प्रतिनिधिमंडल का स्वागत करते हुए अत्यंत प्रसन्नता हो रही है। हमें इस बात की खुशी है कि आपकी यात्रा हमारे राजनयिक संबंधों की 75वीं वर्षगांठ के अवसर पर हो रही है।

IIT-ISM धनबाद के दीक्षांत समारोह के अवसर पर आप सब के बीच आना मेरे लिए प्रसन्नता की बात है। मैं सभी उपाधि और पदक प्राप्त करने वाले विद्यार्थियों को बहुत-बहुत बधाई देती हूँ। मैं आज Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) से सम्मानित होने पर डॉक्टर पी. के. मिश्रा जी को हार्दिक बधाई देती हूँ।

प्रिय विद्यार्थियो,

यह मेरा परम सौभाग्य है कि भगवान शंकर की असीम अनुकंपा से, श्रावण- मास में, बाबा नगरी-बैद्यनाथ धाम, देवघर में आने का अवसर मुझे प्राप्त हुआ है। इस परम-पावन धरती पर ज्योतिर्लिंग भी है और शक्तिपीठ भी है। शिव और शक्ति दोनों के आशीर्वाद से सिंचित इस पवित्र धरती को मैं सादर नमन करती हूं।

श्री गोरखनाथ मंदिर से निकली गौरवशाली शाखा-प्रशाखाओं में यह महायोगी गोरखनाथ विश्वविद्यालय भी शोभायमान है। मैं सबसे पहले महायोगी श्री गोरखनाथ को सादर प्रणाम करती हूं।

आज इस सभागार सहित, विश्वविद्यालय की नई सुविधाओं का लोकार्पण करके मुझे बहुत प्रसन्नता हुई है। मुझे आशा है कि नए अकादमिक भवन में बेहतर सुविधाओं के उपलब्ध होने से विद्यार्थी तथा शिक्षक, और अधिक उत्साह एवं निष्ठा के साथ आगे बढ़ेंगे।
